In this episode of The Stories That Form Us, I talk with Lauren Kutschke, the founder of Salted Pages. She runs a studio that helps small businesses with words for their websites, blogs, and brands. Her work blends SEO (so you can be found online) with storytelling (so people feel who you are).

Lauren believes this: you can’t tell someone else’s story if you’re not living your own.

We talk about her path into writing, why story matters more than trends, and how she helps creatives write words that work for search engines and for humans. We also talk about AI and what it can and can’t do in the writing world.

Meet Lauren Kutschke of Salted Pages, SEO Copywriting and Brand Messaging

Lauren started Salted Pages after working as a journalist. She has been writing for small businesses since 2015. She loves helping people find the right words so they can spend less time on marketing and more time serving their clients.

She also created DIY copywriting resources to help business owners write their own websites with ease. (Use code UNBRIDLED for a discount!)

When she’s not working, Lauren is often traveling with her husband, sailing, or reading with her dog by her side.

A Few Themes That Rose to the Surface

You Can’t Tell Others’ Stories Without Living Your Own

Lauren shares how her personal journey — from public health to journalism to copywriting — taught her that authenticity starts with embodiment.

SEO as Storytelling

Instead of chasing algorithms, Lauren frames SEO as simply helping the right people find your story. Keywords are invitations, not replacements for resonance.

AI as a Support, Not a Substitute

We explore the possibilities of AI for ideation and structure, while recognizing that lived experience and human nuance can’t be automated.

The Balance of Voice + Visibility

Lauren’s work proves that great website copywriting doesn’t have to trade personality for performance. The words need to work for search engines, but they need to feel true for humans first.

Building While Becoming

Like many entrepreneurs, Lauren built Salted Pages while still evolving into the person who could hold it. Her honesty reminds us that clarity comes from movement, not perfection.

Through the Lens of Story

At Unbridled Form, we believe brand storytelling is less about crafting something new and more about uncovering what’s already alive in you.

This conversation with Lauren is a reminder that the energy you live your brand in becomes the energy your clients receive. That search engines might find you, but it’s your lived story that makes people stay.

What We Loved Most

  • The reminder that embodiment precedes storytelling.
  • Practical wisdom on balancing SEO and voice.
  • Honest reflections on the messy middle of entrepreneurship.
  • A nuanced, non-hyped perspective on AI.
  • The invitation to build even before you feel “ready.”

Every powerful brand is built on a deeper story, the kind your audience feels instinctively. When you understand the emotional thread that runs through your work, it becomes easier to show up clearly, connect meaningfully, and create an experience that stays with people. This story becomes the foundation for how your brand looks, feels, speaks, and leads.
