brand strategy | brand design | creative direction
Skylar came to Unbridled Form with a brand that had been doing its job, but no longer doing her justice. Her studio already had the energy: warm, fun, bold, welcoming. Her reputation was strong. Her work spoke for itself. But the brand? It wasn’t speaking in her voice.
What she wanted was something more expressive. More magnetic. A brand that could hold her personality and her professionalism. A space that felt just as curated and confident as the experience her clients love her for.
Through story-driven brand strategy and soulful creative direction, we built a visual identity that mirrors what Skylar has always offered: beauty that feels personal, care that feels grounding, and confidence that lasts.
Brand Moodboard
We explored the naming question together, considering whether Inked Cosmetics should evolve into something more personal like Inked by Skylar, or stay rooted in its established recognition. In the end, we landed on Inked Cosmetics by Skylar, a flexible name that honors her growth, positions her as the artist behind the brand, and still carries the strength of what she’s built over time.
Visually, we grounded the brand in symbolic motifs that reflect Skylar’s unique energy. The disco ball became a central metaphor, being bold, dimensional, and reflective of the light that already exists in each client she works with. Supporting elements like playing cards, cheetah print, and funky western wear available for purchase in her studio would add a dose of rebel energy and unapologetic femininity. The result is a brand that doesn’t just look good, but feels like Skylar: creative, confident, and completely her.
